Creating The Look of the Film
In the film, the backgrounds were designed with the idea in mind that these two characters are on their way to reaching their goals and bettering their skills. When it comes to art, we are never really finished learning so the backgrounds are made to show a level of "incompleteness". The underdrawings were mostly kept visible and painted to be subtly noticeable. There are parts of the canvas that are left unpainted.

The Scene Breakdown
Colour Script
The art for "What I See In You", is strongly connected to the music. The music uses a set of themes that eventually develop into a final song. The art uses colour and lighting to inform the audience about the character's journey towards the finale. Red is the predominant thematic colour for this film. It returns at different intensities gradually to represent the trapeze artist's effort towards mastery.
